Chelsea Soccer Club (Part 4)

History

In June 2003, Bates traded Chelsea to Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich for £140 million, accomplishing what was then the biggest-ever sale of an English football club. Over £100 million was expended on new players, but Ranieri was incapable to consign any trophies, so he was restored by Portuguese adviser José Mourinho. Under Mourinho, Chelsea Soccer Club became the fifth English group to win back-to-back association championships since the Second World War (2004–05 and 2005–06), in supplement to triumphant an FA Cup (2007) and two League Cups (2005 and 2007). In September 2007 Mourinho was restored by Avram Grant, who directed the association to their first UEFA Champions League final, which they lost on penalties to Manchester United. Grant was discharged days subsequent and did well by Luiz Felipe Scolari in July 2008.
Scolari expended only seven months in the job before being brushed aside after a string of poor results. Russia adviser Guus Hiddink was nominated caretaker supervisor until the end of the 2008–09 time of the year, and directed Chelsea to a second FA Cup triumph in three years. Two days subsequent, previous Milan adviser Carlo Ancelotti was verified as Chelsea's new manager.  In his first time of the year, Ancelotti directed Chelsea to their first league and FA Cup "Double"; in supplement, Chelsea became the first English top-flight edge to tally over 100 association goals in a time of the year since 1963.  Ancelotti parted business with Chelsea on 22 May 2011 after a trophyless time of the year that glimpsed the Blues misplace in the quarter finals of Champions League, and complete runners-up in the Premier League, to Manchester United.
